Experience life and death at Japan’s coffin cafe with unique ‘coffin-lying’ service
A 120-year-old funeral home in Japan is offering a unique experience: a “coffin café.” For a small fee, visitors can spend time reflecting inside one of three decorated coffins. Kiyotaka Hirano, the funeral home president, was inspired to create the café after his father’s death, hoping to encourage contemplation on life and mortality.
