Sanitary napkins, baby diapers will now need BIS certification
Starting in October, sanitary napkins, baby diapers, and reusable menstrual products will require mandatory Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification. This move aims to enhance the quality and safety of these essential items, addressing health concerns associated with low-quality products and promoting menstrual hygiene for women and girls. Non-compliant products will face restrictions on manufacturing, storage, and sale.
