Fake trading apps, WhatsApp groups and online training sessions: How a retired engineering college teacher lost Rs 8 crore to stock trading scam

59-year-old retired principal from Hyderabad, Chennupati Vijayakumar, lost Rs 8.1 crore to an investment scam through the RK Global app from July to October 2024. Initially, he withdrew a small amount, but larger withdrawals failed. After realizing the scam, he filed a complaint with the Telangana State Cyber Security Bureau.
