Government launches National Mission on Edible Oils-Oilseeds to boost domestic oilseed production

The Union Cabinet has approved the National Mission on Edible Oils-Oilseeds to boost domestic oilseed production to 69.7 million tonnes by 2030-31. With a budget of Rs 10,103 crore, the mission will promote high-yield seed varieties, expand cultivation, and improve post-harvest processes, aiming for self-reliance in edible oils and reducing imports significantly.
