J&K records over 65% polling in final phase, result on Oct 8
Polling for the final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir election concluded peacefully, with a turnout of 65.58%. The highest percentage was in Udhampur at 72.91%. Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar hailed the elections as a historic deepening of democracy, with increased voter turnout in regions previously known for low participation. Vote counting is scheduled for October 8.
