Rabindranath Tagore became the first non-European to win the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1913 for his work ‘Gitanjali’. His profound impact on Bengali literature, music, and art is celebrated through thousands of songs, novels, and poems. Though his original Nobel medal was stolen in 2004, the Swedish Academy presented replicas to Visva-Bharati University.
