Defamation cases: Tamil Nadu BJP leader H Raja sentenced to 6 months in prison

A Chennai special court convicted BJP leader H Raja to six months’ imprisonment for criminal defamation. The conviction relates to derogatory statements made in 2018. The judge suspended the sentence for 30 days to allow Raja to appeal in the high court. The Madras High Court previously dismissed a plea to quash related FIRs.
