UP former MP Kadir Rana gets bail in model code of conduct violation cases

Former MP Kadir Rana secured bail in two cases related to Model Code of Conduct violations during the Meerapur by-election. A Muzaffarnagar court granted bail on Wednesday after Rana furnished surety bonds. The charges stemmed from activities during the by-election, where Rana’s daughter-in-law, Sumbul Rana, unsuccessfully contested on a Samajwadi Party ticket against BJP’s winning candidate, Mithlesh Pal.
