Postgraduate student loses Rs 7.3 lakhs to fraudster pretending to be TRAI official

A 25-year-old Mumbai student fell victim to a “digital arrest” scam, losing Rs 7.3 lakhs. Posing as a TRAI official, the fraudster claimed her Aadhar details were linked to illegal activities. Threatening police action and 17 complaints, the scammer coerced her into breaking her FDs and transferring funds.
