Uttarakhand: Enhanced security measures at Sharda Sagar Dam to protect migratory birds

The Uttarakhand Forest Department has heightened security around Sharda Sagar Dam to protect migratory Siberian birds from hunters. The department is conducting round-the-clock patrols and surveillance to prevent poaching, particularly due to the area’s porous borders with Nepal and Uttar Pradesh. Two men were recently detained on suspicion of hunting, highlighting the ongoing challenges in safeguarding the birds.
