Germany’s highest court ruled that Meta might have to compensate users whose data was potentially compromised in 2018 and 2019. The court stated that users could claim damages even without proving specific financial harm. Although a lower court dismissed similar claims, the Federal Court of Justice decided that the terms of use and user consent need further examination.
