Leadless pacemaker saves life of 74 year old woman; implanted through incision-free surgery
A 74-year-old woman in India, suffering from complications due to an infected pacemaker, has been successfully treated with a first-of-its-kind leadless pacemaker. This minimally invasive procedure, requiring no incisions or stitches, allowed the patient to be discharged within a day. The smaller, more comfortable device is designed for patient safety and can be removed or upgraded if necessary.
