Weightlifters face maximum 8-year ban for second doping offence
Two Indian weightlifters, Veerender Singh and Hansraj, face eight-year bans after testing positive for banned substances. Both athletes, previously sanctioned for doping offenses, were caught during recent competitions. Their samples revealed traces of prohibited drugs used to enhance muscle mass and testosterone levels. The National Anti-Doping Agency’s disciplinary panel will now adjudicate their cases, potentially ending their careers.
