Precious metals, freebies top poll seizures in Maharashtra, Jharkhand: Election Commission of India
The Election Commission of India seized over ₹439 crore in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, a threefold increase from the 2019 assembly elections. The seizures included cash, precious metals, freebies, liquor, and drugs, aimed at curbing voter inducement. Maharashtra saw the highest seizure of precious metals, while freebies topped the list in Jharkhand.
