Barua plays down corruption charges

The Indian Chess Federation is investigating allegations of corruption and conflict of interest against its vice-president, Dibyendu Barua. Chess player Abhijit Mondal accused Barua of selecting himself as head of the Indian delegation for the Chess Olympiad and then receiving an unprecedented Rs 10 lakh reward, despite not attending the opening ceremony or initial rounds.
