Hawaii continues to be red: Kamala Harris wins 10th straight presidential election in state
US Vice President Kamala Harris secured a win for the Democratic party in Hawaii, marking their tenth consecutive victory in the state. Harris’ win adds Hawaii’s four electoral votes to the Democratic tally. Hawaii last voted Republican in 1984, choosing Ronald Reagan. Democrat Mazie Hirono also retained her US Senate seat, defeating Republican Bob McDermott. Hirono, the first Asian American woman in the Senate, has held the seat since 2012.
