Indian embassy in Bahrain facilitates repatriation of Telugu woman who suffered torture as housemaid

Sirisha Paka, a 24-year-old woman from Andhra Pradesh, was rescued from abusive employment in Bahrain and returned to India on November 6. Paka had reported being physically tortured and deprived of basic needs. Her case was brought to light by her sister and subsequently taken up by the Indian Embassy in Bahrain and the Pravasi Bharatiya Legal Team.
