CBI’s SIT begins probe into Tirupati laddu ‘ghee adulteration’ case
A special investigation team (SIT) has begun investigating the alleged adulteration of ghee used to make Tirupati laddu prasadam. The team, comprising CBI and Andhra Pradesh police officers, is examining lab reports that indicate the presence of animal fat in the ghee supplied by a Tamil Nadu-based dairy. The SIT will soon visit Tirumala for a ground-level probe.
