Why Ladakh was chosen as India’s testing ground for Mars and Moon missions

India has launched its first simulated Mars and Moon mission in Ladakh, a region with similar geology to the extraterrestrial surfaces. The mission, a collaborative effort between ISRO, AAKA Space Studio, and academic institutions, will study the challenges of living in an interplanetary habitat, including habitat design, resource management, and the psychological effects of isolation.
