‘Highest since 2012’: Delhi Fire Services (DFS) saw 53% surge in fire and emergency calls on Diwali
The New Delhi Fire Department handled an unprecedented 280 fire-related calls during Diwali, with additional incidents involving animal and bird rescues, road accidents, and suicide cases. Major fires were reported in Kalkaji, Nehru Place, Nirman Vihar, Laxmi Nagar, and Mangolpuri. Increased deployments included fire tenders, motorcycles with water backpacks, and quick response units.
