1,500 kg whale washes up dead near Alibaug beach in Navi Mumbai

A Baleen whale carcass, measuring 18ft long, washed up on Varsoli Beach in Alibaug on Sunday morning. Forest department officials, with a veterinary doctor, inspected and then buried the whale, collecting samples for further analysis. Around 500 people observed the scene. The cause of death, with no visible injuries, remains undisclosed.
