Gopal Vittal, managing director of Bharti Airtel, takes on a second role at the company

Bharti Airtel has appointed Gopal Vittal as Vice Chairman and MD, effective January 1, 2026. He will also join Airtel Africa’s Board. Shashwat Sharma, currently COO, is designated to become the next MD and CEO. Rakesh Bharti Mittal will move to other company boards, while Rajan Bharti Mittal returns to Airtel’s board.
