Supreme Court nixes ‘behave decently’ rider for remission
The Supreme Court ruled that ‘decent’ as a term is subjective and undefined in law, making it inappropriate to impose such a condition for remission of a convict. It emphasized that conditions for remission must be reasonable and in accordance with the law, quashing Gujarat government’s decision.
