Comprehensive probe into the spread of diarrhoea in Gurla

Senior IAS officer K. Vijayanand visited Vizianagaram to investigate the diarrhoea outbreak in Gurla mandal. Examining water contamination, sanitation, and medical response, he found bacteria in drinking water and noted 180 families lacked toilets. Factors like open defecation and improper water supply practices were identified. Ongoing public awareness and hygiene improvements were advised.
