Walter Burley Griffin, renowned for designing Canberra, also contributed to Lucknow’s architecture, creating over 50 projects from 1935 to 1937, including the Tagore Library and students’ union building at Lucknow University. His designs fused Western modernism with Eastern aesthetics. Griffin, enchanted by Lucknow’s charm, spent his last days in the city before passing away in 1937.
