Department of Telecom, Telcos launches system to stop overseas spoof calls

The Department of Telecom, collaborating with telecom service providers, is deploying a two-stage system to block international spoofed calls targeting Indian subscribers. Currently, four TSPs have stopped 4.5 million spoofed calls. A centralized system to eliminate remaining spoofed calls across all TSPs will be commissioned soon, addressing the growing issue of fraudulent calls disguising as local numbers.
