Cabinet approves Phase-2 of Chennai metro, ends deadlock

The Union Cabinet swiftly approved the 119 km second phase of the Chennai Metro, to be completed by 2027 at a cost of Rs 63,246 crore. This addition will expand Chennai’s metro network to 173 km, with 128 stations. The project is set to enhance connectivity and boost economic growth, funded by both the central and Tamil Nadu governments.
