USCIRF flags ‘increasing abuses’ against religious minorities in India
A US government commission has raised concerns over deteriorating religious freedom in India, urging it to be labeled a ‘Country of Particular Concern.’ The report highlights violent attacks against religious minorities, misuse of laws, and arbitrary arrests. India has denied visas to the commission citing ‘interference’ in its internal affairs. The State Department has not yet acted on these recommendations.
