Monsoon officially bids goodbye to Delhi after record-high rainfall

The southwest monsoon withdrew from Delhi on Wednesday, marking higher-than-normal rainfall across India. IMD reported 8% more rainfall in the 2024 season, totaling 934.8 mm, the highest since 2020. High-intensity low-pressure systems contributed to the increase, with Delhi recording 1029.9 mm of rain, resulting in 13 deaths due to floods and heavy rain.
