New liquor policy to come into force in Andhra Pradesh from October 12
The state government has announced a new excise policy effective from October 12, with retail liquor shops being handed over to private players through a draw of lots. Notably, 340 shops are reserved for the toddy tapper community, and 12 premium liquor stores will be established. The license period is set for two years with an option for model shops.
