SP MLA says growing Muslim population will dethrone BJP in 2027 UP polls

Samajwadi Party leader Mehboob Ali sparked controversy by claiming the increasing Muslim population will oust BJP in the 2027 Uttar Pradesh polls. Comparing BJP to the Mughal empire, Ali labeled them ‘anti-Constitution.’ An FIR was lodged against Ali and district president Hussain for promoting enmity. Legal action is currently underway. The two SP leaders have been booked under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita Sections 196(1) (promoting enmity between different groups) and 353(2) (public mischief).
