Air Pollution: New paddy variety gives hope to deal with the problem of stubble burning
The Indian Agricultural Research Institute has introduced the Pusa-2090, a high-yielding, short-duration crop variety that is expected to curb air pollution in Delhi-NCR by reducing paddy stubble burning. With a maturation period of just 120 to 125 days, this variety allows farmers more time to prepare for their next crop, potentially reducing the reliance on stubble burning.
