University of Melbourne gets Professor Emma Johnston as first female vice chancellor

The University of Melbourne has named Professor Emma Johnston as its first female vice chancellor. Currently serving as deputy vice chancellor at the University of Sydney, she will begin her new role in February 2025. She replaces Duncan Maskell, who is leaving for personal reasons after leading since 2018.
