The art of nothing: Italian artist sells sculpture that does NOT exist at $18k
Italian artist Salvatore Garau sold an ‘immaterial sculpture’ named Lo Sono for $18,300 in June 2021. Auctioned by Art-Rite Auction House, the piece has no physical form but includes a certificate of authenticity and installation instructions. Garau claims its significance lies in its representation of nothingness and condensed energy.
