DUSU 2024: Vote Counting Paused Until Property Defacement Is Cleared, Rules High Court
The Delhi High Court has halted the counting of votes for the Delhi University Students’ Union (DUSU) elections, scheduled for Friday, until defacement materials such as posters and graffiti are removed and public property is restored. The court ordered the university to bear the clean-up costs, citing DU’s failure to supervise the election process properly. It criticised the university for not disciplining candidates and delaying enforcement, directing a status report by October 21.
