21 of 37 sewage treatment plants don’t meet standards in Delhi: Report
In August, 21 of Delhi’s 37 sewage treatment plants failed to meet pollution control standards for parameters like faecal coliform and biochemical oxygen demand. This untreated or inadequately treated water often reaches the Yamuna River, worsening its pollution levels. Despite increased treatment capacity by the Delhi Jal Board, many unauthorized colony sewers remain untapped.
