Nigeria floods kill 30, displace 400,000: rescuers

Severe flooding in Maiduguri, northeastern Nigeria, has led to at least 30 deaths and forced 400,000 people from their homes. The overflow of the Alau dam has inundated around 40 percent of the city. Authorities fear that the total number of displaced individuals could reach one million as conditions continue to worsen.
