Travis King, who fled to North Korea, will plead guilty in US Army desertion case
US Army private Travis King, who entered North Korea last year and was detained, plans to plead guilty to five charges, including desertion. He faces a total of 14 charges but will have nine dismissed as part of a plea agreement. King, who joined the Army in 2021, was previously detained in South Korea for assault. His sentencing is scheduled for September 20 at Fort Bliss, Texas.
