SpaceX’s Polaris Dawn launches successfully: What are the mission’s two key objectives?
Following several weather delays, the Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from Cape Canaveral, Florida, at 5:23 a.m. The rocket carried a Dragon spacecraft with four crew members: Jared Isaacman, the billionaire leading the mission; Scott “Kidd” Poteet, a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel and fighter pilot; and SpaceX employees Sarah Gillis and Anna Menon. Gillis oversees astronaut training at SpaceX, while Menon is a mission director and astronaut communicator.
