Tax on online gaming fetches Rs 6,909cr

The implementation of a 28% GST on online gaming and casinos has resulted in significant tax revenue increases for both states and the Centre. Online gaming alone generated Rs 6,909 crore in six months. Despite lobbying efforts by gaming companies for a review, the GST Council reviewed collections without indicating any changes to the current levy.
