Egyptian scientist starts petition to return Nefertiti bust

Former Egyptian antiquities minister Zahi Hawass has launched a petition urging Germany to return the bust of Queen Nefertiti, housed in Berlin’s Neues Museum. Discovered by a German team in 1912 and taken to Europe in 1913, the bust is among three significant artifacts Hawass seeks to repatriate. He emphasises that only items removed illegally are targeted.
