Chennai: Forest dept clears Pallikaranai marsh of encroachments

Over 55 concrete structures were demolished in Chennai’s Pallikaranai marshland on Friday as part of an anti-encroachment drive. Led by forest officials, the operation saw residents with proper documentation being allocated alternative housing. The remaining structures are scheduled for demolition on Saturday, with further action planned against encroachments in Ambedkar Nagar.
