Rescued barn owl undergoes surgery for fractured wing in Madurai

A barn owl with a fractured wing, found injured in Madurai, underwent a successful orthopaedic surgery. This marked the first such surgery on a wild bird in the city. Veterinarians used a specialized technique due to the bird’s delicate bone structure. The owl is currently under observation and will be moved to a rehabilitation center for recovery.
